Senzora is celebrating its 145th anniversary

Senzora has existed as a family business since 1876 and will celebrate its 145th anniversary on the 1st of May 2021. Senzora will not let this milestone pass unnoticed. We are proud that we have been a company based in Deventer for 145 years. Moreover, we are grateful for our customers and the long and pleasant relationship that we have built over the years.

About Senzora
Antonie Johannes Schoemaker, the founder of Senzora, took over a grocery store on the corner of Stromarkt-Papenstraat in Deventer on the 1st of May 1876. Even in the early days, Schoemaker turned out not to be a standard grocer. The switch to wholesaler/soap manufacturer and the coffee roasting company is being made. The company grows rapidly and expands further to a larger location on Raamstraat in Deventer in 1916. On October 15, 1917, A.J. Schoemaker en Zonen changes the company name to Senzora (Schoemaker EN ZOnen RAamstraat). This name originated from a competition between the Schoemaker brothers and sisters.

Purveyor to the Court
In 2001 Senzora obtained the predicate: “By Appointment to the Court of the Netherlands”. This means that Senzora distinguishes itself through quality, solidity and continuity within its business operations. Over the years, Senzora has developed into a specialized manufacturer of detergents and cleaning products. In a modern production location on the Noorwegenstraat in Deventer, detergents, dishwashing detergents and soda are produced.

Sustainability
Senzora is a company that continues to grow, is constantly on the move, and invests in the future by increasingly focusing on the sustainable production of ecological and skin-friendly washing and cleaning products. Good examples of this are the more than 2000 solar panels on the roof of the production hall and the LED lighting. In addition, it is possible to certify your product with one of the quality marks, such as the European Ecolabel, Bra Miljöval,and Nordic Swan.

Sustainability plays an important role within our business operations. This is evident from the fact that Senzora has been certified since 2009 according to the AISE Charter for Sustainable cleaning, a European sustainability standard for the detergent industry.
